Prince George, BC, Lawyers
Gary D. Whidden is a lawyer and the founder of Whidden Law Corporation.
Gary is originally from Vanderhoof, B.C., but moved south to pursue his education after high school. After graduating law school, he moved back north to Prince George and began working at a local law firm. There, he worked collaboratively with several lawyers in many different areas of practice. During this time, Gary had a broad law practice that involved everything from drafting wills and incorporating new businesses to criminal defense and civil litigation.
Gary quickly started focusing his practice more towards the courtroom. He has gained extensive experience as a courtroom litigator, arguing cases at every level of court in British Columbia, including the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court, and the Court of Appeal. In addition to regular court appearances, he has represented clients before numerous administrative tribunals including the residential tenancy board, the worker's compensation appeals tribunal, and has argued reviews under the Motor Vehicle Act.
After representing clients in a wide range of legal issues, Gary has now narrowed his focus and practices primarily as a family law lawyer. He helps clients navigate every issue relating to family law including divorce, separation, parenting arrangements, property division, child and spousal support, protection orders, or any other aspect of family law.
A problem solver by nature, Gary always seeks to find a negotiated solution before proceeding to court. He started Whidden Law Corporation as a client-focused law practice that is committed to finding fair, practical legal solutions.
Gary is married and has 3 children. He spends most of his spare time with his family and also enjoys playing and watching any sport, woodworking and fishing.
